Repairing rear locker mystery.

So ever since I received the Syncro I found that the rear locker seems to have been purposely disabled. The servo actuator was just zipped tied on its mount kind of just dangling there. Anyways long story short, it seems a new servo actuator was about to be installed however I think the PO stopped short because the server actuator pin could not fully engage into the locker. Upon further investigation, it appears crap or probably the previous pin had broke off inside the locker.

I was stumped on how to get the broken bits out which had lodged itself in after years of non use. A buddy of mine Quentin had a great idea. He had ran into the same issue just about 4 hours before me. Random. Anyways he used a drill and somehow got to fit in the cramped space and was able to drill out.

My drill was too big and would clear the Stainless steel coolant pipes. Luckily I still had a dermal. It was such a pain. About 4 hours and a ruined dermal later. I got it out and free. And it still wouldn’t go back together.

Apparently the mount had been slightly bent. After bending it back straight and square as I could everything went back together. I was also able to get the job done without removing the axel too. (which was also a pain).

On the knobs side, I accidentally busted one when pulling the dash for an earlier heater fix. Luckily I had another set from the PO :)

In the end its very nice to pull some knobs and see Ronnie light up with happiness :)
