Steering Wheel Remote mod. :)

I love upgrading Ronnie to have today’s features.

This time, I bring you a custom steering wheel remote mod! Not that its very hard to lean over and mess the stereo while driving. Just another fun project that I enjoy doing. Check it out :)

The stereo is a JVC KD-SR82BT.

The dream:

Thought about making my own button layout, but that would take too much time for me at this point…so I’ll just re purpose rubber button pad.

Not too bad…

The horizontal line element is slightly off to the steering wheel…and there area couple of other dimensions that need to be adjusted with the design and inner button and PCB registration features… Part of the process…but overall looking very promising :)

Another round of refinement in CAD and 3D printing…

Quite like the color too, hard to see but it is speckled grey color.

Time to lengthen the infrared LED to mount on the right side of the steering wheel.
